Septembers painting produced a small recon team for BKC and provided me with a test scheme for my Germans. I am calling them ‘Hollywood Germans’ as I am probably the least likely person to either know, or care about, ‘proper’ uniform colours or styles. My childhood was filled with old war films that left me with a youthful impression that all germans wore either black or grey uniforms. (I can also probably blame those early plastic toy soldiers for reinforcing the mental image.)
Most of these figures were purchased as a job lot from someone that knew even less than me as they mixed various styles and uniforms on some of the bases… With that in mind, and about 100 tiny men to paint, I was never going to give them more than a base coat and wash.
All in all, at arms length, that’ll do!
Will my eyes survive all this tiny detail painting…
They look pretty good to me! 🙂

Nice work- on to the rest I’d say.
Cheers,

15mm needs to look good on the table. You have too many to paint to try and do a 28mm job on them.

I agree, at 15mm it just needs to represent what side it is on. A general colour to bring them all together is often enough. Unless you are Azazel who seems to be able to paint 15mm tanks with as much detail as everything else he does…
