July 2021. Played a game of A Song Of Ice And Fire. Free Folk Vs Lannisters. I always feel good at the start of this game as the Free Folk outnumber most opponents heavily from the start. Mid game I always remember that this is because the Free Folk are mostly angry rabble with stone weapons.

When you vastly outnumber the enemy, remember to try to not get in each others way or you cannot get to the enemy to make those extra numbers count…
I do like these troops!:-) I’m assuming those significant vacant spots on the movement trays represent angry rabble casualties!

Yep, those empty spaces are dead brothers and sisters. Angry rabble tend to die real easy against hardened troops. The nack (or so I am told) is to kill the enemy quickly, before too many of your own troops are removed…

Nice! This is a game I’ve been getting very tempted by lately. From what I can see from the pictures both armies look good. Who won in the end; proud, hardy Free Folk or filthy Lannisters?

If it is an objective game the chances of winning go up for the free folk. If its attrition the free folk suffer with poor resilience… Low armour saves and low morale both lead to even more casualties… This time round the final turn was close and the free folk managed to last longer than usual. Finally taking the last, and decisive, objective points before the end of the game.
