After a long and monotonous magnet sticking task it was time for me to try and enliven my hobby experience by… painting 10 of the same sculpt, back to back…
Yes, the painful task of painting a repeating sculpt ten times in a row. If I want to use them I have to paint them I guess. So, to make it slightly less mind numbing I opted to vary the banner colour on each one (well, on most of them).
The whole of my Free Folk force for A Song Of Ice And Fire has been done in GW contrast paints, so no change here. Bone, cloth and wood all using contrast. A few metal weapons, edges and rims and they are thankfully done.
As with all the other Free Folk in the range, these sculpts lend themselves to a nice level of detail, and can be finished to a good tabletop standard with very little effort. As these are just banners that will be used to identify which units have activated they don’t need a huge amount of time being wasted on them…
Nice one about enlivening your hobby experience, lol!

Might have been dull to paint but they certainly brighten up the board.
Cheers,
Pete.
