Hmmn, am I avoiding painting more Free Folk?  Possibly but any figures I complete, so that I can use them, is good right?  Especially when they were started in early September of last year.  Great!  I am glad you agree, so lets move on…

Corvus Cabal, crow loving stealth killers with an odd sense of fashion.  I bought these with the rulebook when I looked to start playing WarCry late last year. So you would think they should have seen a game, or at least some paint, by now. Well now they have. Nine to a box and all individual sculpts.  Some good detail on the grunts as well as the specialists.

It was the grunts that got finished first as I wanted them to be more uniform and slightly different from the more elite chaps.  More browns here and again contrast paints for leathers, feathers and skin.  Their weapon options give me 2 with spears and 2 with the basic war pick.  The last is an odd option, as the crow that he holds is effectively giving him access to a special ability in the game. I wonder if I will ever remember to use it or if I should have gone with a third spearman… Time, and a few games, will tell.

The elite members of the cabal have more of a grey tone to their paint job. These also took slightly longer to finish as they are sculpted with more armour and a few more details. As with quite a few figures these days I added something to help pick them out on the table. In this case I gave them slightly different foliage on the bases. Anything to help gameplay move more swiftly as my eyes slowly dim…
